The Wisdom Of The Workshop

Kian was initiated into the wisdom of grandpa Bob's workshop the other day. I grew up in Bob's workshop, it was an invaluable experience. I learned some important lessons to live by. I hope in time, both my boys will learn these things from my father.
  1. Measure twice, cut once.
  2. Always use the right tool for the job.
  3. If it is worth doing, it is worth doing properly (even the most mundane task can be fulfilling if you do it beautifully).
  4. Order your space.
  5. Occasionally make a lot of noise, swear and mumble - that way people generally leave you alone when you are working.
This green dog is what the two of them made.
